Welcome to our consultation website on Westcombe’s plans for the redevelopment of Kingston Bridge House, situated on Church Grove, Hampton Wick in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (LBRuT).

Westcombe Group (Westcombe) received a decision in April 2024 from LBRuT to redevelop the former Kingston University student accommodation block, into 70 apartments. This followed the Council’s planning committee approving the planning application in December 2023.

Our proposals for Kingston Bridge House

Since obtaining planning permission, Westcombe has been approached by a number of hotel operators, about the opportunity to deliver a boutique hotel at Kingston Bridge House alongside residential development. Importantly, the new proposals are deliverable so will bring the unused buildings back into use in a reasonable time.

We consulted on our proposals back in September 2024 and have just submitted a planning application reusing our proposal following feedback from planning officers, businesses and residents. We have a named hotel operator on board, “Hotel Indigo”, and have doubled the number of affordable homes.

We believe our revised proposals strike the right balance between providing much needed housing in Richmond, alongside helping boost the local economy and reviving the southern end of Hampton Wick High Street.

We held an exhibition of our latest proposals in Bullen Hall on Thursday 15th May 2025 between 3 and 7pm. You can view the exhibition boards here. If you have any questions, or would like to give some feedback, please email info@kingstonbridgehouse.co.uk. Thank you.

You can also view the ‘History’ exhibition board, summarising previous proposals and planning applications, here.

We want to
hear your views

We wanted to say thank you to everyone who attended our public consultation events and gave their views on our proposals. Your feedback and local insight will be considered as part of our plans where possible, when submitted.

We held two public consultation events where attendees were able to view our detailed plans and ask questions of the project team.

The consultation closed on Monday 7 October at 7:00pm.
